Haven't Blogged In Awhile...

Well...I've definitely been more absent from the blog world than I've intended to be. But being jobless and such has made life seem somewhat uninteresting.
I usually see Deb and Jasmine on a weekly basis. Which is a blast, since it's giving us quality time together as friend and aunt. It's definitely a privilege to have such an active role in Jasmine's life as she grows up!
And it's wedding season. So a lot of my time has been filled with helping several girlfriends with needs as they draw close to their wedding days. In fact I have literally slept all day today recovering from this month's union...congrats to Jeremy and Rachel! I was in her house party, so the last few days have been long ones. It was beautiful though! And in my opinion perfect. I like the long ones. You get one chance to communicate to people, especially people you don't see very often, what it is that makes your decision to marry this person so special. I think Americans rush through these sacred moments too much. That was one of the blessings with this one...Rachel is Brazilian, part of my heritage I adore, and I love the Brazilian way of life. Time is so not an issue. I love it! It makes me seriously consider moving there! I think I was created to be fully Brazilian, not half! So we took our time. We enjoyed the moments. We didn't rush. In fact, when most brides seem to get to the church and begin the frenzy of last minute preparations. We gathered in the front of the sanctuary and prayed. For a while. It was great! And the reception was filled with Brazilian finger foods. Can I just say "YUMM!!"? It was one of the best, so far! And we had a pretty amazing and crazy fun time at the bachelorette party! Enough said!
So those have been the big things happening lately. I'm not sure how to describe it. Not having a job to go to every morning isn't great on the finances, so that's stressful, but it's not stressful in other ways - like the ability to sleep in after long nights.
The other big thing that's happening right now is that I've been visiting a little house church in the area. That's pretty cool. I've only gone twice so far. But I think I like the little community. We'll see how that goes. But it's nice to be back in community with people and to have the freedom to disagree and discuss, instead of just sit and listening. I like the ability to interact in church.
Well...I'm getting tired again. Which is crazy since I haven't been awake much at all today. But I guess I needed it. It's been good sleep. So I think I'll get some more!
I might have a job interview this week, so keep me in your prayers on that end. It would be a blessing, and if this one goes through it'd be a cool way to use my youth ministry degree (in a non-traditional way).

Update on Jasmine

Well, that precious little girl is now almost 7 months old! Crazy how time flies, huh? Thought you might enjoy these! The pictures don't do it justice, but she's go some amazing curly hair!
(I love the last one. . . she was actually starting to look up when the picture took, but I think it's a great representation of the personality she's already showing, she definitely already has a mind of her own!)
By the way, the proud parents are doing great! Marriage is definitely a learning experience, but God is doing great and mighty things in both of them. I'm very proud of my friend and how much she is growing...into an awesome wife, mom, and as a woman of God! And her hubby is turning out to be an awesome husband, father, and man after God, (and friend) too!
(And God is still teaching me so much about his grace, too! I don't think I will ever stop having something to learn in that area!)
